BSL Interpreting Service

We work with a number of highly skilled interpreters who each have their own specialised area of expertise. When allocating the most appropriate interpreter to each assignment, we also consider additional factors such as:-

  • gender specific requests.

  • a specialist knowledge or interest in the subject.

  • meeting individual's personal preferences.

As we have longstanding relationships with many of our clients, we have developed a good understanding of their requirements which enables us to provide a consistent, appropriate and reliable service.

Lipspeakers

We provide qualified, registered and experienced lipspeakers to meet your communication requirements. Lipspeakers repeat information for people who prefer to use lip reading as their primary mode of communication in addition to facial expressions, gestures and some finger spelling. Lipspeakers can be invaluable in large settings where it is impossible to see and lipread all the participants.

Deafblind Interpreting Services

We provide a range of DeafBlind Interpreting services to best meet the needs of the individual. These include:

  • Sign language interpreters who are experienced at Visual Framing, which is beneficial for sign language users with reduced sight.

  • Interpreters who are skilled at Hands On Interpreting, where the DeafBlind person puts their hands on the interpreters whilst they are signing and are able to visualise the signs.

  • Use of the Manual Alphabet as a tool for imparting information.

Translation Work

We provide a translation service and can interpret all your written documents into a more accessible version in British sign language or, conversely, we can interpret videos produced in British sign language into a written format.

Note Takers

We provide qualified and highly skilled manual or electronic note takers who produce accurate and concise summaries of events.

Speech to Text Reporters

We provide highly skilled speech to text reporters who provide a simultaneous written transcript of everything that is being said projected onto a screen using a phonetic keyboard.
